Job Description

Job Title: Sanitation Lead

Reports to: Director of Sanitation

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 PM–5:00 AM

Pay: $28.00/hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands‑on Sanitation
Lead to oversee and actively participate in sanitation operations within our food manufacturing facility. This is not a desk job—this role requires physical involvement and leadership on the production floor. The Sanitation Lead is responsible for ensuring all sanitation tasks are completed according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), maintaining food safety standards, and supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate must be reliable and punctual every day
, as they are expected to lead the team by example and set the tone for performance and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work alongside the sanitation team to complete daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, human safety, and sanitation standards
  • Train and onboard new team members; provide ongoing coaching and development
  • Monitor and enforce proper use of chemicals, PPE, and sanitation procedures
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify cleanliness and readiness for production
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Sanitation and other departments
  • Adjust staffing and sanitation plans as needed to meet production demands
  • Support pre‑operational checks, environmental testing, and audit readiness
  • Perform hands‑on sanitation tasks including equipment disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a sanitation leadership role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation procedures, food safety standards, and cGMPs
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French Creole) highly preferred
  • Must be dependable and on time every day—this role sets the example for the team
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
