People Operations Partner, MA (Healthcare) Overview
The People Operations Partner serves as a frontline HR advisor and employee-support resource for Baldor’s Boston, MA and Portland, ME locations. This role combines HR operations excellence with hands‑on support for employees and managers, ensuring consistent application of policies, strong employee relations, efficient HR processes, and a positive workplace experience.
The ideal candidate is a trusted partner who thrives in fast‑paced, operational environments and can balance day‑to‑day HR transactions with coaching, problem‑solving, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Workplace SupportServe as an accessible HR point‑of‑contact for employees and leaders across assigned business units. Conduct intake, documentation, and follow‑up for employee relations matters, escalating complex issues as needed. Support investigations by gathering statements, reviewing facts, and ensuring timely resolution and thorough documentation. Provide coaching to supervisors on communication, performance expectations, and application of company policies.
Promote positive employee engagement through visibility on the floor, relationship‑building, and proactive issue spotting.
People Operations & HR AdministrationOversee HR operational activities such as HRIS updates, employee changes, and timekeeping accuracy. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, safety requirements, and company policies. Coordinate new‑hire processing, onboarding plans for relevant roles and day‑1 employee experience. Partner with Payroll to ensure accuracy of pay‑related changes and troubleshoot discrepancies.
Support for Managers & SupervisorsCoach leaders on performance feedback, corrective action, documentation, and progressive discipline. Support attendance management processes, including tracking, counseling, and follow‑up.
Assist with workforce planning activities such as staffing needs, scheduling trends, and shift coverage challenges. Provide guidance during change initiatives to ensure consistent communication and employee understanding.
Talent & CultureAssist in recruiting coordination: interview follow‑ups, onboarding coordination, ensuring timely candidate movement, and supporting hiring managers and recruiters. Conduct stay interview, focus groups and lead employee survey results and action plan activities. Support employee recognition, retention initiatives, and People Operations programs that foster engagement and belonging.
Data & ReportingMaintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in HR systems. Generate HR metrics such as turnover, attendance trends, headcount, and employee relations reporting. Identify patterns and insights from data to recommend operational improvements.
Cross‑Functional CollaborationPartner with Safety, Operations, Payroll, L&D, Benefits, and HR teams to ensure alignment and consistency. Participate in business unit meetings and initiatives to support business initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Support company‑wide HR programs and policy implementation.
Qualifications3‑6 years of HR Generalist, HR Specialist, People Ops, or related experience. Strong understanding of employment laws, HR processes and employee relations best practices. Experience in distribution, food manufacturing, logistics or similar fast‑paced environment preferred. Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with ability to work across all levels of the organization. Strong ER expertise, coaching skills, communication, operational understanding, analytical thinking, influence without authority.
Proficiency with HRIS systems, MS Office (high proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point). Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for workforce support.
On‑site visibility required in warehouse, production and transportation environments, including being comfortable in refrigerated warehouse setting. Requires walking the floor, engaging with employees across multiple shifts and occasional early morning, late‑evening or weekend support. This role is based out of Chelsea, MA but occasional travel to Portland, ME and New York offices will be required.
