Job DescriptionTITLE: Stipend - Caminos K-12 Vertical Group (Districtwide) (Internal Only) (SY25-26)

REPORTS TO: MLE Director and Assistant Director - Dr. Alberto Carrero, Mrs. Alma Pezo
GENERAL DUTIES: The Camino’s K-12 Working Group will engage in a study of biliteracy instruction in order to provide access to HQIM for DL schools. The principles and key points identified in Strand 3:
Instruction from the Center for Applied Linguistics Guiding Principles of Dual Language Education (GPDLE) will serve as a key resource for learning, self‑reflection, and continual improvement as well as the resources from DL of New Mexico. Together, teachers from across the three program schools will build a shared understanding of biliteracy practices including integrating language and content instruction, using pedagogical strategies to increase comprehension for bilingual learners, bridging language and content across and within classrooms, and developing students’ metacognitive awareness.
Additionally, we will contextualize these practices within the HQIM Implementation. Participants will unpack current research on dual language curricula and work collectively to review and, as needed, draft recommendations for the Camino’s Leadership Team. Special attention to vertical alignment will be central to this working group as we use our collective energy to review our vision, mission, language allocation plans and program structures.

We are looking for a total of 12 educators in grades K‑12. Link to Google Form
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will be an educator who is teaching in the DL program or is interested in teaching in the DL Program. We are looking for a well‑represented group of educators across the schools. Duties: K‑8 teachers from across the three program schools will build a shared understanding of biliteracy practices including integrating language and content instruction, using pedagogical strategies to increase comprehension for bilingual learners, bridging language and content across and within classrooms, and developing students’ metacognitive awareness.
We are looking for a total of 18 educators in grades K‑12.
COMPENSATION: There will be 16 hours allocated to this work. Teachers will receive up to 24 PDPs. Compensation:
Teachers will be paid at the contractual rate for work outside of the school day (up to 8 hours total).
