We have an opportunity for an R&D Electrical Engineer to join our R&D Team and report directly to the CTO. The right person will help to drive our development roadmap building our future products. Working closely with our software development team to integrate hardware and software.

We are looking for those that like to tinker, innovate, experiment and prototype. Able to engineer across multiple disciplines to bring their ideas to life. As part of the R&D team you’ll have the opportunity to test the latest technology and bring them into our product line.

Responsibilities:
  • Bring ideas and solutions to the open discussion about improvements of our chambers, fixtures, and other products
  • Identify components to use in designs based on the design requirements
  • Design and create the schematic for PCBs
  • Layout of PCBs and/or work with our layout partners to ensure functional design
  • Write any needed firmware for validating design
  • Test and validate Designs
  • Assist in mechanical design for integration of designs
  • Create Documentation for manufacturing and end user use of designs
  • Ensure successful handoff to engineering and operations
Education and Experience:
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years of relevant experience in product development, preferably in a lab or industrial equipment industry. Personal project experience is also acceptable
  • PCB experience including digital and analog designs
  • Experience with test equipment including multimeters, digital power supplies, logic analyzers
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and software issues
Skills/Abilities you will have:
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit design
  • Component selection experience including digital components, and sizing conductors, etc
  • Experience with embedded programming
  • Experience with UART, SPI, I2C communications
  • Able to prototype using bread boards and development boards
  • Experience with soldering, 3d printing, and fast turn prototyping
  • Independence and resourcefulness.
