Job DescriptionThis seasonal, non-benefited position runs July 6 through August 14. Weekly hours vary based on the needs of the program. The program runs 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and preferred coverage is for the entire day by breaking shifts into AM and PM. Typically, the position is 7 a.m.–4 p.m., with possible part‑time shifts and additional part‑time shifts on certain field‑trip days.
We are seeking energetic, team‑oriented Registered Nurses for the Summerfest Childcare Program, which serves children in Grades 1‑6.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing health services to students in the Community Education Summerfest Childcare Program.
- Assisting with compilation of medical records for program activities prior to and during summer.
- Collecting medical information and preparing records for incoming students.
- Assessing the health needs of children, collecting and evaluating student health data to form a nursing diagnosis and nursing care plan.
- Collaborating with school health partners to ensure quality health care is provided to all children.
- Working with minimal medical supervision and providing assistance in supervising children when not needed for nursing duties.
- Assisting with supervision of children who have food allergies, coordinating Epi‑Pen storage, and acting as a building‑wide nurse for any medical issues.
- One year of experience as an RN.
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse with the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
- Current and valid certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Strong preference for previous relevant school health experience.
