Job Description

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

We are currently seeking an energetic and fun theater teacher for our summer program located at Chelmsford Community Education. Our ideal candidate would be able to commit to providing age‑appropriate instruction for grades 1-6, incorporating group activities such as set/costume design, and coordinating a short play or production at the end of the week. Candidate must feel comfortable in a classroom environment, with confidence in managing groups of elementary aged students.

Responsibilities
  • Providing age‑appropriate acting instruction for grades 1-6
  • Providing program supervisor with your lesson plan for the week
  • Working directly with groups of children
  • Setting up and cleaning up your workspace
  • Coordinating a short play for students to perform at the end of the week
Qualifications
  • High school graduate and minimum age of 18 years required
  • A degree in the area of the job posting is preferred but not required. Proof of previous experience will be expected.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI check
  • Must have reliable transportation and be punctual
  • Must be available Monday through Friday during the dates posted above
  • Must have experience and confidence in managing a classroom of elementary aged students
  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
