Position:
Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher
Location:
Harrington Elementary School
Assignment Dates: 03/14/26 – 06/12/26 (Dates are subject to change)
Responsibilities:
- Design, supervise, and implement students’ IEP plans
- Instruct students using specialized curriculum
- Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations
- Participate in IEP Team meetings
- Write effective IEPs for students
- Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress
- Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services including BCBA and related service providers
- Consult with general education teacher and related service providers
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion
- Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals that are data based on student performance
- Administer various diagnostic achievement assessments that identify student capabilities as part of initial and reevaluation for students
- Write effective evaluation reports summarizing findings and making recommendations for assigned students

Job Requirements- A degree in special education from an accredited college or university is required.
- MA DESE Teaching License – PreK-8 Moderate Special Needs license is required.
- Training and experience with specialized reading programs (OG, Wilson, LIPS, etc.) is required.
- Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to assure students can access the curriculum.
- Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Experience with IEP development is required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
