School Crossing Patrol Officer – Galleywood Infants & St Michael’s Junior

Location: Galleywood Infants & St Michael’s Junior, Barnard Road, Galleywood

Employment type: Permanent, Term Time

Hourly rate: £13.00 per hour

Working hours: Approximately 6.66 hours per week, 39 weeks of the academic year, between 08:30 – 09:05 in the morning and 14:45 – 15:30 in the afternoon.

Uniform, equipment and training will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • To have regard for the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility‑impaired people wishing to use the crossing point.
  • Maintain regular contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
  • Regularly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site in order to identify any problems. Report problems and defects to supervisor.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on accidents and failure to stop incidents and other incidents occurring at the crossing site.
  • Ensure that all uniform and equipment provided is maintained in good condition and replacements requested when needed.
  • Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and ensure that the traffic remains at rest until the road at the crossing point is clear of pedestrians.
