Permanent 40‑hour per week contract. Salary: £16.05 per hour with overtime paid at enhanced rates.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30.

As a 7.5‑tonne Collection and Delivery driver you will play a crucial role in operations and customer satisfaction, ensuring efficient parcel collection and delivery across the region.

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers during parcel collection and delivery.
• Ensure timely and accurate collection and delivery of parcels according to scheduled routes.
• Assist with loading and unloading parcels at depot and customer locations.
• Maintain a daily schedule of approximately 50–60 stops.
• Safely handle heavier items using provided equipment such as a sack barrow or hand truck.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and any issues encountered.
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while operating the vehicle.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Use handheld devices and company software to update delivery statuses and communicate with depot.
• Resolve customer queries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust delivery approach accordingly.
• Collaborate with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and workload distribution.
• Maintain a clean and presentable appearance to represent DPD to customers.

• Valid 7.5 T (C1) licence, DQC (Driver Qualification Card) and CPC accreditation.
• Clean driving record with no more than 3 penalty points.
• At least 1 year experience driving 7.5‑tonne vehicles or similar.
• Excellent customer‑service skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
• Friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful and professional.
• Strong multitasking, problem‑solving, time‑management and organisational skills.
• Physical ability to lift, load and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
• Good knowledge of local road networks and traffic patterns.
• Comfortable using handheld devices and basic computer software.
• Physically fit and able to handle the demands of a physically active job.
