Adults Social Worker – Early Help & Wellbeing
Permanent, full‑time position based in Chelmsford and surrounding areas, working as a community‑based worker. Salary: £37,185 to £50,081 per annum.
Interview date: 30th hearthship 2026. Interviews will be held in person at County Hall, Chelmsford.
About the roleWe provide early intervention and prevention services to people in Essex who are not currently receiving other services or who have fallen through existing gaps. Core responsibilities include:
- Conducting Care Act assessments and reviews to support wellbeing outcomes.
- Supporting individuals and their families/carers to set and achieve personal goals.
- Providing advice, information and guidance in a person‑centred manner.
- Working within statutory Care Act frameworks, including safeguarding, support planning and decision‑making.
- Collaborating with partner agencies and the local community to build supportive networks.
- Traveling across Essex; a valid driving licence and access to a car or suitable mobility arrangements are essential.
We are looking for a professional who:
- Is an experienced social worker registered with Social Work England (post‑ASYE).
- Demonstrates creative thinking, reliability and a practicalÍT ability to achieve outcomes.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of statutory responsibilities and a commitment to person‑centred practice.
- Has experience chairing meetings and building strong relationships with partner agencies.
- Is mobile and can travel within Essex.
