Building Surveying Manager - 12 Month FTC

£57,919

Chelmsford, Essex

Temporary, Full Time

We are looking for a Building Surveyor Manager to lead our team in maintaining and improving CHP’s housing and property assets. The successful candidate will manage a specialist building surveying service in the maintenance of all CHP’s housing and other property assets and provide strategic oversight of technical requirements of the Asset Management Strategy and implementation.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract ending 31 March 2027.

What you’ll be doing

* Accountable for managing to a successful resolution all instances of property asset failure, specifically around structural integrity and disrepair by investigating, managing and defending CHP’s interests in legal and arbitration cases.

* Monitor and manage agreed budget areas to ensure robust expenditure and value for money.

* Accountable for ensuring that the regulatory and compliance requirements of service delivery are met.

* Manage, motivate, develop and mentor team members, providing training where required throughout the business.

* Keep all appropriate databases properly updated to ensure that full information on cases are properly recorded and monitored, championing the use of digital solutions where possible.

What we are looking for

* Experience in managing a successful building surveying team and complex cases to tight deadlines.

* Strong experience of carrying out building surveys and analysis defects, including writing reports with recommendations.

* Strong knowledge of housing asset management and building safety.

* Extensive knowledge of the Regulatory Standards.

* Experience of delivering maintenance projects and refurbishments work to time, budget, and quality.

* 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays, 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year and 1 wellbeing day per annum.

* 37 hours per week - employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager, taking account of business need. We operate a hybrid working policy at CHP.
