Overview

Due to recent investment in the Clinical Coding Team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, we are excited to offer an opportunity for experienced Clinical Coders to join our team at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford and Southend hospital in Southend. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic Clinical Coders to join us. Responsibilities

The role involves applying clinical coding in a hospital setting, contributing to accurate data for patient care and reporting, and supporting the Trust’s objectives through timely and precise coding activities.

Qualifications
  • Possess the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) UK or be willing to work towards it at some point in the future
  • Have experience of using ICD-10 and OPCS-4.10 classifications in an acute hospital setting
  • Be experienced in clinical coding for a wide range of specialties
  • Have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
  • Be willing to work as part of a team to meet tight deadlines
About the Trust

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population. Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust.

There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative. We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.
