Occupational Therapy Assistant – Residential Children’s Home, Wisbech Shift Pattern: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM Pay: £13.31 per hour Are you a motivated, compassionate individual with a keen interest in occupational therapy? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated therapeutic team at our residential children’s home in Wisbech About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of effective, evidence-based, person-centred interventions within our specialist residential setting.

You will be working with a diverse group of children and young people who may have diagnoses including mental health conditions, personality disorders, learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders—all requiring inpatient care and support. Shift Pattern:

This role operates on a full-day shift basis, from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM, offering a consistent and structured working pattern within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support qualified Occupational Therapists in delivering both 1:1 and group-based therapeutic interventions. Contribute to the assessment and understanding of each student’s occupational performance, identity, and rehabilitation needs. Promote mental health, independence, and engagement in daily activities through structured interventions. Assist in assessing functional skills and sensory needs to inform tailored therapy plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, and contribute to clinical discussions within multidisciplinary and teaching teams.

Help implement and review personalised intervention programmes that foster learning, social interaction, and meaningful participation. Embed therapeutic approaches throughout students’ daily routines, both at home and in the school environment.

What We’re Looking For:

A creative, self-motivated individual with strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs. An interest or background in mental health, occupational therapy, or special education is highly desirable. Experience working in a residential or care setting is an advantage. Why Join Us?
