Field Service Engineer - Mechanical / Electrical (Packaging Machinery)

£40,000-£45,000 + overtime + benefits + full training

Now, due to ongoing demand, we’re looking for another skilled Field Service Engineer to join the team.

Working across customer sites UK-wide, you’ll provide full technical support on a range of machinery—including installation, commissioning, servicing, repairs and breakdown response. You’ll enjoy a varied, hands‑on role involving:

• Mechanical strip‑downs, rebuilds and assembly work
• Fault‑finding and repairs on electrical systems
• Basic PLC work (diagnostics, adjustments, I/O checks)
• Wiring, testing and checking control panels & looms
• Supporting customers on‑site, delivering clear, confident technical advice
• Ensuring machinery performance, uptime and accuracy on labelling/check weighing systems

Every day is different and you’ll be out meeting customers, solving problems and keeping lines running.

• 2+ years' experience in a Field Service or Technical Engineer role
• Background with labelling systems, packaging machinery, automation, or similar industrial kit
• Strong electrical skills - wiring, fault‑finding, schematics, basic PLC knowledge
• Good mechanical ability - tools, strip‑downs, fitting, cutting/grinding, assembly
• Ability to prioritise, plan routes, and work independently out in the field
• Confident communicator with great customer service skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/apprenticeship) is beneficial but not essential
• Welding experience is a bonus but not required
