Campus Officer - Further Education College, Chelmsford, Essex

Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Contract: Full-time

As a Campus Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, welfare, and smooth running of the college environment. You will interact daily with students, staff, and visitors - helping maintain a welcoming, secure, and well-managed campus.

• Provide a visible and approachable presence across the campus
• Support with safeguarding and student wellbeing, following college procedures
• Ensure the site remains safe, orderly, and compliant with health & safety guidelines
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and behaviour-related situations professionally
• Monitor access points, visitor entry, and general campus activity
• Work closely with pastoral teams, curriculum leads, and college management
• Complete reports and escalate concerns where appropriate

• Previous experience in a similar role (Campus Officer, Security Officer, Pastoral/Student Support, or similar)
• Strong communication, conflict-resolution, and rapport-building skills
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and assertive when needed
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures (training can be provided)
• Reliable, organised, and committed to supporting young people
• DBS on the Update Service is desirable
