Are you passionate about supporting young people in their education and helping them achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience working with Post-16 learners to join a welcoming and inclusive Further Education College in the Chelmsford area.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners aged 16+ with a range of additional needs, including SEND, learning difficulties, and barriers to learning. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure all students have access to a positive and engaging educational experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to Post-16 learners across a variety of curriculum areas
· Assist students with understanding tasks, building confidence, and developing independence
· Support learners with communication, social skills, and organisation
· Adapt materials and resources to meet individual learning needs
· Work collaboratively with teaching teams and support staff
· Foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning environment
Requirements
· Experience supporting learners within an FE, Post-16, or secondary setting
· Understanding of SEND and additional learning needs
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Ability to work proactively and supportively with young adults
· A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support
