Assistant Librarian

Overview

We are looking for an efficient and flexible individual to join our pro-active library team. The successful candidate will assist with the organisation and maintenance of the school library as well as supervising and assisting students with their research and selection of reading material. Please note that some uploaded documents may require special software such as Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.

• Assist with the organisation and maintenance of the school library
• Supervise and assist students with their research and selection of reading material
• Support recruitment processes and documentation as directed (e.g., recruitment pack and recruitment monitoring form)

Applicants must demonstrate a good standard of numeracy and literacy and have excellent Microsoft Office skills. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude and calm manner along with excellent attention to detail. You will be an excellent communicator, confident in dealing with both staff and students.

We deliver a high quality education in science that challenges and stimulates students. The sciences are popular A Level subjects with many students choosing science-based courses  promote many vocational and enrichment opportunities, including STEM projects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to enrich learning experiences. Specialising in sports since 2004, our sports facilities, teaching expertise and extra-curricular provision are outstanding. Our students enjoy sporting success at district and national level and benefit from an exceptional extra-curricular programme although our ethos is centred on participation for all.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.

Hours are 26 ½ per week, Mon 8.00 - 14.30 / Tue & Wed 8.00 - 16.30 / Thur 08.00 - 12.30 (Mon/Tue/Wed all include a 30 minute unpaid lunch break). Scale 5 Point 9, term time only (actual salary £17,206).
