We are seeking a dedicated Admin / Receptionist to join a supportive and welcoming Special Educational Needs School based in Chelmsford, Essex.

About the Role
As the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of the school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment and is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

· Managing the school reception: greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and handling enquiries

· Providing general administrative support to staff and leadership

· Maintaining accurate records and updating school systems

· Assisting with attendance and safeguarding documentation

· Handling incoming/outgoing mail and supporting daily office operations

· Ensuring a warm, professional, and inclusive front-of-house environment

Requirements

· Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role (school experience desirable but not essential)

· Excellent communication and organisational skills

· Confident using Microsoft Office and/or school MIS systems

· Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask

· A friendly, patient, and positive attitude

· Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
