Finance Director

The City of Chehalis is recruiting for the Finance Director position.

The Finance Director is an exempt, at-will position under the direct supervision of the City Manager. The current salary range is $117,036to $142,296. We also have excellent benefits. Please see the benefit summary attached. The City will also provide a 5% bonus to the hired candidate if they hold a current CPA Certification.

The City is in the process of a new system implementation with Tyler ERP (formerly Munis). This position serves as the project manager for the implementation and coordinates training and communication with other department end users.

The Finance Director provides leadership and direction to a finance team of three in the development of long and short range division plans, goals, and objectives; gathers and prepares data for studies, reports, and recommendations; coordinates division activities with other city departments, federal, state, county, and local agencies and groups that interact with the Finance Division in the areas of receiving and accounting for monies, investing cash, accounts payable, business licensing, employee payroll, revenue and expense analysis and forecasting, debt management, rate analysis, budget preparation and administration, and financial audits.

• Graduation from an accredited high school and completion of a college degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, or a related field;
• Eight years of experience in public financial management, financial reporting, and/or budgeting, including at least four years as a supervisor or above; and
• Evidence of ongoing professional training (classes, seminars, conferences, etc.)
• CPA Certification is desirable.
• System implementation experience is desirable.
