This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Machinist to join a well known company based in Somerset, with ambitious growth plans, you will form an integral part of the Machine shop team, undertaking a variety of important task on a daily basis.

The Role:

Operating manual XYZ lathes and milling machines to manufacture and repair components used in electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and fans.
Work closely with engineering colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in fault diagnosis and determine appropriate repair methods for a range of mechanical systems.
Produce work to specified tolerances and quality standards
Follow all safety procedures
Maintain a clean and well-organised workshop.
The Package:

£35,000 starting salary - £40k - £45k overall earnings.
Day shifts - 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Enhanced Overtime rates and On call bonuses.

Ideal Experience

Required:

Experience with Conventional Machines:
Skilled in operating manual lathes and milling machines for precision machining tasks
XYZ Turning experience
Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc)

Experience with welding and balancing would be beneficial
Reading Technical Drawings:
Ability to interpret engineering drawings to manufacture or repair components to specification
Machining to Fine Tolerances

Experience with using measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, callipers) to ensure accuracy and quality
