Valantus is expanding its assessment team and is seeking an IT professional ready to develop into a Cyber Security Assessor, supporting Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and progressing into ISO/IEC 27001–aligned assurance activities.

This role is a great way to move a from hands-on technical IT work into cyber security, compliance, and information security governance.

This is a hands-on technical position supporting cyber security and compliance assessments.

Working alongside our Lead Assessor, you will gain practical experience in:

• Security control validation
• Evidence-based compliance assessments
• Endpoint, configuration, and account security review
• Risk and governance fundamentals

• Support Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
• Collect, validate, and document technical evidence
• Perform endpoint, account, and configuration security checks
• Review patching, controls, and system security settings
• Maintain audit logs, trackers, and assessment documentation
• Assist with remediation guidance and client communication
• Collaborate with colleagues across Wedmore and London offices

Additionally, there will be opportunities to contribute to internal process improvement and automation initiatives.

• Experience in IT
• (desktop support, networking, infrastructure, or systems administration)
• Good understanding of Windows environments
• Familiarity with patching and endpoint controls
• Solid grasp of core security principles
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
• Professional communication skills
• Awareness of Cyber Essentials / CE+
• Exposure to ISO/IEC 27001 or similar frameworks
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, etc.)
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Endpoint / Entra security
• Interest in cyber security, risk, and compliance
