Hourly Pay Range: $20.00-$25.00

Job Summary

The KEMRON Truck Driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers' houses or places of business. The driver may also load or unload the truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep the truck in working order.

The trucks driven may include articulating dump trucks, water trucks, other heavy trucks, and the ability to drive them safely in off‑road conditions.

Primary duties and responsibilities include
  • Safely operate, load, travel on and off‑road conditions, driving multiple types of trucks of various sizes and weights, performing multiple functions such as dumping, pumps, sprayers, etc.
  • Determine the most efficient operation of each truck and its capabilities for maximum daily production.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.
  • Control traffic at work sites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas or following flaggers’ directions, as required or assigned.
  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment, reporting any issues or need for repairs to supervisor.
  • Clean vehicles and equipment as needed or directed.
  • Consistently follow KEMRON and OSHA safety policies and procedures, bringing any problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Director or HR Manager.
  • Follow daily procedures, policies, and protocols as set forth in job orientation, training, and onsite tailgate meetings.
  • Provide onsite assistance as laborers and/or technicians as requested by supervisor/foreman to expedite project work and work scheduled.
  • Assist site personnel in the safe execution of all project work.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Clear 5‑year motor vehicle record and meet KEMRON vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in operating articulating trucks, two (2) of which must be related to environmental construction.
  • Considerable knowledge of articulating trucks operating principles on multiple types of equipment.
  • Ability to safely and competently operate vehicles and equipment under various working conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in environmental remediation and construction work.
  • Excellent knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy truck and equipment operations.
  • Understand the operation and maintenance of various trucks used in remediation construction work.
  • Understand and execute safe positioning for loading, driving in reverse, dumping and traveling on slopes and rough terrain. The ability to work safely around multiple pieces of equipment and site personnel.
  • Efficiently work from construction specifications or blueprints when necessary.
  • Determine the correct vehicle or equipment best suited for specific tasks.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Additional Qualifications Preferred
  • 40‑hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operator (HAZWOPER) training.
  • Current 8‑hour HAZWOPER refresher training.
  • Current CDL.
  • Certified first aid and CPR training.
  • Primary residence located within 50 miles of project site.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Good eyesight and excellent eye‑hand coordination.
  • Good judgment to safely and correctly follow steps necessary to perform complicated tasks.
  • Work closely, safely, and respectfully with other employees/positions on site without continuous supervision.
  • Ability to remain constantly alert and observant of surroundings.
  • Regularly perform tasks in outside weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat, wet and/or humidity.
  • Ability to perform safely while exposed to vibration, dust, asphalt, and/or hazardous material.
  • Satisfactorily and safely perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
  • Understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Will frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
