Job Responsibilities

The Box Truck Driver F Endorsement position ensures the safe and timely delivery of donated goods, equipment, and merchandise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support Goodwill’s Mission, Vision and Values through words and actions.
  • Maintain agency, employee, and participant confidentiality.
  • Operate box trucks between ADC sites, stores, and the DC.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; report issues immediately.
  • Keep vehicle interior and exterior clean; no food, drink, tobacco, or personal electronics while driving.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company driving policies; never deviate from assigned routes or use vehicles for personal reasons.
  • Load/unload merchandise and donations safely using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Ensure secure placement of items to prevent damage or shifting during transport.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and hazardous material protocols.
  • Comply with FMCSA, NHTSA, and company safety standards.
  • Report accidents, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Adhere to all company policies including vehicle policy.
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and paperwork daily.
  • Report on time daily and follow assigned schedules.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance; work flexible hours and adjust to changing schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Class D driver’s license with F endorsement and a TN driver’s license, or willingness to obtain.
  • Must pass a DOT physical and maintain a good Motor Vehicle Report.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months professional driving experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT, OSHA, TOSHA, NHTSA regulations and local codes.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA rules on safe driving, hours of service, inspections, and equipment maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to install/remove equipment such as tire chains.
  • Knowledge of company policies, safety protocols, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities; able to set priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to promote teamwork and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Physically capable of pushing/pulling loads over 50 pounds continuously.
  • Dependable, conscientious, and safety focused.
  • Able to adapt to changing schedules and work based on business needs.
