The RPGLE Engineer II is responsible for building the tools that power our freight platform. This role has a passion for tackling hard problems. As a veteran who knows how to get things done and how-to future-proof our architecture and implementations to scale for years to come, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, and development of product features from beginning to end.

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
• Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all the team deliverables.
• Write high quality distributed system software.
• Promote state of the art technology trends, standards, frameworks, and tooling.
• Work in an agile development environment, always working on the most important deliverables.
• Mentor, teach, and coach other engineers to improve their engineering skills and responsibilities.
• Partner with various teams to create a technical strategy and design for proposed product improvements and new features.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required
• Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested

• 3 + years of experience in designing and developing large-scale applications, tools, systems, and services using RPGLE
• Experience developing in Infinium is a plus
• Transportation, Logistics, and/or Tech industry experience a plus

• Proficiency in ILE, Modules, and Service Programs
• Expertise in DB2 is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
• Excellence in communicating with users, team members, and stakeholders to describe product features, designs, and product strategy
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change
• Works quickly and efficiently. Able to test solutions, learn, and iterate quickly
• Proactive and pragmatic problem solver
• Communicates effectively across multiple mediums
