Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Emerge is recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Industrial Electrician job with a manufacturing plant in the west Chattanooga, TN area. This hands‑on role is ideal for a skilled industrial maintenance electrician with strong PLC troubleshooting experience who enjoys solving complex problems on the production floor. You’ll install, repair, and improve electrical systems and automation equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Pay: $29.50-$34.00+ per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM with potential overtime on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities- Design, modify, install, and maintain electrical circuits, control panels, and PLC systems
- Program, edit, and download logic for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLCs
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues using a laptop, multimeter, and diagnostic tools
- Run conduit and size wiring, fusing, and control components per National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair of production machinery, tooling, motor controls, and AC variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Maintain accurate logs of electrical work, including installations, updates, and repairs
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime
- Coordinate work with outside contractors and local inspectors when required
- Read and interpret detailed electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams
- Assist with general maintenance and facility support tasks as needed
- High school diploma or GED. Technical training or associate degree in industrial electricity, electronics, or automation is a PLUS!
- Demonstrated experience as an industrial electrician or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
- Strong PLC troubleshooting, ladder logic, editing experience
- Solid understanding of motor controls, VFDs, relays, sensors, and automation equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Experience with solid‑state electronics, high‑frequency induction heaters, or servo systems Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and general safety standards. State of Tennessee Journeyman Electrician license is a PLUS!
