Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

Seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality Team in implementing quality control programmatic requirements for nuclear, DoE, DoD, and AS9100/ISO
9001 projects. This role reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.

• Perform dimensional inspections (first article, in-process, and final) using conventional precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and digital height gauges.
• Program and operate Zeiss CMM with Calypso software, as well as Keyence Optical CMM and/or Faro arm.
• Conduct receipt inspection of materials, parts, and consumables while maintaining QA-controlled inventory.
• Perform XRF (X-Ray Fluorescent) and hardness testing of materials, with training provided if no previous experience.
• Ensure quality requirements are maintained to meet MM QA Program and Customer requirements.
• Verify all inspection activities are performed according to Customer requirements, procedures, and purchase order/contract agreements.
• Perform assigned QC witness/hold points as identified in work travelers, which may require traveling to Customer/Supplier facilities.
• Interface with Customers and Production personnel.
• Temporarily assigned to other activities/duties as needed to support the business.

• Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control inspection activities utilizing Faro Arm CMM and/or Keyence Optical CMM.
• Completed Zeiss Metrology, Keyence Optical CMM, and/or Faro Arm Training Classes desired.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control inspection activities in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate quality and technical requirements.

• Machinist/Fabricator experience is a plus.
• Nuclear commercial grade dedication experience is a plus.
• Experience in aerospace AS9001 is beneficial.

Work in a machine shop with a schedule of 1st shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, which may transition to four 10-hour shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Chattanooga,TN.
