At Vetopia, we're building the future of veterinary care—one rooted in compassion, curiosity, and intentional design. We blend top-tier medicine with systems that support our teams, sustainable scheduling, and a deeply collaborative culture. Our team is tech-forward and mission-driven, fueled by the belief that better care for pets begins with better care for people.

Role Purpose

As Lead Veterinary Technician, you’ll help shape the heartbeat of our medical team. You’ll lead by example—clinically, emotionally, and collaboratively—while mentoring others, refining systems, and helping build a workplace that works for the people in it. If you're passionate about both animals and team leadership, this role was built for you.

Jobs to Be Done (JTBD)

  • When a patient needs care, we need a technician who can handle IVs, blood draws, anesthesia, and dentals with confidence and calm. → You’re precise, efficient, and gentle under pressure.
  • When a new team member joins, we need someone who mentors with clarity and compassion—modeling our standards and lifting up the team. → You teach by doing and lead by listening.
  • When clients are worried, we need someone who brings empathy, explanation, and reassurance to the conversation. → You create trust in every interaction.
  • When the clinic is moving fast, we need someone who sets the pace and keeps the energy focused and grounded. → You thrive in a rhythm of calm coordination.
  • When something’s not working quite right, we need someone who can offer thoughtful insight, help shape the solution, and support the team in bringing it to life. → You’re a co-creator, not just an employee.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and mentor other techs and veterinary assistants
  • Help lead daily workflow planning and efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with doctors on patient care and treatment planning
  • Uphold and teach Fear-Free handling principles
  • Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and culture-building initiatives
  • Contribute to shaping protocols and communication norms
  • Advocate for patient well-being, team support, and operational clarity

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of clinical experience, including surgery and dentistry
  • Confident in training others and providing supportive feedback
  • Excellent communication and emotional intelligence
  • Passionate about leadership and systems that support people
  • Aligned with Vetopia’s values of curiosity, trust, and innovation

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Health benefits, PTO, and education/CE allowance
  • Fear-Free certification covered
  • A voice in shaping our culture, systems, and future
  • A collaborative, mission-aligned team that walks the talk

Apply if You…

  • Are a natural leader who believes that how we lead matters as much as what we do
  • Care deeply about animals—and just as deeply about the humans who care for them
  • Value clear communication, shared purpose, and psychological safety
  • Want to help build something different—something that disrupts the status quo and redefines what veterinary care can be.
