LPN - Pediatric Endocrinology

LPN - Pediatric Endocrinology, Full-Time

Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and indirect care of pediatric patients under the direction of an RN within Ambulatory Care.

Position Summary: Provide age-appropriate nursing care, assess patient status, interpret data, coordinate care, support families, manage patient population, participate in quality improvement.

• Deliver direct nursing care to pediatric patients in ambulatory endocrine unit.
• Assess patient data, develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer pharmacological drugs, perform procedures, operate equipment as assigned.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team, support self-management for patients and families.
• Participate in unit quality improvement processes and performance evaluation.

Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Licensure: Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.

Required Experience: Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; nursing principles applicable to required areas.

Preferred Experience: PALS certification, previous pediatric experience.

• Ability to assess patients, develop and evaluate care plans.
• Proficiency in medication administration and pharmacology knowledge.
• Skill in performing nursing procedures and operating equipment.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team.
