Minimum 2 years of L&D experience

AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS

Must Have

Skills:

2+ years of L&D experience
Preferably 1+ completed travel contracts

Common Procedures on Unit:
Cervical exams
IUPC & FSE placement
Vaginal deliveries
IV starts with lab draws
Circulating cesarean sections
Recovering cesarean sections (typically spinal anesthesia; occasional general anesthesia)

Unit Specifics
Number of Beds: 9 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, 3 antepartum rooms, 3 ORs
Patient Ratios:
Laboring: 1:1–2
AP: 1:2–3
C/S & PACU: 1:1

Unit Staffing:
OB tech staffed for scrubbing C-sections & assisting vaginal deliveries
Dedicated charge nurse (baby nurse) for triage & transport assistance
Unit secretary on duty 0700–2300
Documentation Systems:
Meditech & Centricity

Scheduling Requirements: 3 shifts/week; if scheduled during winter holidays, must work 1–2 days/evenings

Floating Policy:
May float to Mother Baby (infrequent). Will not float to other departments.
