Role OverviewThe Team Lead – Build / Assembly is responsible for overseeing daily assembly operations, ensuring product quality, accuracy, and productivity while supporting and guiding a team of technicians. This role combines hands‑on technical work with frontline leadership to maintain efficient workflows, resolve issues, and meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and support a team of build/assembly technicians during daily operations
- Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure production schedules are met
- Provide training, onboarding, and ongoing guidance to team members
- Promote a safe, organized, and ESD‑compliant work environment
- Escalate operational, staffing, or quality concerns to the Warehouse Manager
- Assemble products and sub‑assemblies following SOPs, BOMs, and work instructions
- Use hand tools, torque tools, and test equipment safely and correctly
- Verify correct parts, quantities, and serial numbers throughout the build process
- Perform firmware/software updates and configure devices using approved tools
- Troubleshoot basic programming, firmware, or connectivity issues
- Conduct in‑process and final quality checks to ensure product standards are met Ensure accurate recording of serial tracking, test results, and build activity
- Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues
- Maintain compliance with company procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is an asset
- 2+ years of experience in electronics assembly, manufacturing, or hardware production preferred
- Prior experience leading or mentoring team members in a production or warehouse environment is an asset
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions, SOPs, and production documentation
- Basic understanding of firmware, software loading, or device configuration preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality standards
- Effective communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on production environment
