Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Description
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Responsible for set up and operations as required by drawings to meet acceptable quality and productivity standards by either electric arc or automatic wire feed process
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment.
- Demonstrate soundness of weld joints while maintaining proper weld dimensions, heat and depth of weld to parts
- Shall be subject to radiography, dye penetrant inspection or bend tests
- Responsible for reading blue prints, handling materials and tools such as; tape measures, plasma cutter, cutting torches drill, bolts, clamps, etc.
- Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
- Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
- Responsible to see that all company supplied tools used are placed into proper storage cabinets daily.
- Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required
- Conduct rope winding as necessary
- Assist and maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping
- Performs all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.

EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree
6 months’ experience in manufacturing environment
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsPerform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The temperature in the work environment is uncontrolled, so the employee is exposed to both extreme cold and hot temperatures.
