Position Overview

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of Quarry production and plant workers.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily:

  • Act as the site safety leader and ensure that all functions of employees and equipment are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with company and regulatory policies.
  • Enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production and performance goals.
  • Inspect materials, products or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations, work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for employees.
  • Keep records of employees’ attendance and hours worked.
  • Scanning, indexing, sorting, and data entry of supplier invoices.
  • Utilize basic computer skills to input daily production, labor, and equipment data.
  • Train employees in proper maintenance and heavy equipment operation techniques.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production performance.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors and the general public.
  • Possess a strong drive to fulfill commitments and tremendous enthusiasm.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or superiors with other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
  • College Degree in a complementary program or relevant Quarry industry experience.
  • Leadership training a plus.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Developed analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Substantial interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Priority emphasis and strong time management skills.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills.
