Lead Project Manager

The Lead Project Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving quality, schedule, and budget performance across MDC’s custom home portfolio. This person will lead and support the Project Manager team, strengthen project execution, and ensure jobs are properly set up before construction begins. The role blends field presence with operational discipline—supporting PMs on jobsites, resolving issues, managing subcontractor relationships, and creating consistent project rhythms that protect margin and elevate the client experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of Project Managers
• Own schedule execution and budget discipline across active builds
• Ensure job readiness (materials, scopes, selections, subs, long-lead items)
• Serve as an escalation point for jobsite and client issues
• Maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships
• Step in as a working PM on select projects as needed

Ideal Background

• 8+ years of residential construction PM experience (custom homes strongly preferred)
• Deep understanding of construction sequencing and job costing
• Strong leadership presence, organization, and client-facing professionalism
