Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and repair control, safety, relief, gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, and plug valves.
  • Evaluate and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators.
  • Perform pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuators.
  • Calibrate and test valves, related instruments, and process instrumentation.
  • Document repair, testing, and assembly activities, including cause of failure, actions taken, and parts used.
  • Set up and dismantle repair equipment on site and in the shop.
  • Communicate with customers for technical assistance, troubleshooting, and repair disposition.
  • Perform work in accordance with the guidelines of the National Board VR/UV program.
  • Reference technical sources as needed.
  • Complete site-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain driver eligibility.
  • Keep a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in safety and quality programs.

Physical Demands:
  • Lifting objects up to 44 lbs.
  • Turning and twisting during lifting or moving.
  • Navigating stairs, ladders, and scaffolding at heights of 10-30 feet or higher.
Travel:
  • Overnight travel required.
  • Work performed at repair facilities and customer sites.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of industry-related experience or training (valves, pumps, actuators); welding and machining skills are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured on company insurance.
Required Competencies:

  • Technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work off-hours, weekends, and overtime on short notice.
  • Knowledge of rigging, lifting, and moving heavy/awkward products.
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions (heat, cold, clean room).
  • Operational skills with overhead cranes, forklifts, sand blasters, seat facing machines, lift assist devices, and power tools.
