Job Summary
Reporting to the Patient Access and Revenue Cycle Manager, the Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst III independently collaborates with clinical, revenue, and ambulatory system management. The Analyst acts as a technical resource to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve system needs. Tasks include using cases, workflows, and metrics to configure, maintain, and monitor systems, while providing suggestions for application modifications, enhancements, or process changes.
The role serves the revenue cycle (Registration, Revenue Integrity, Billing, Scheduling, Coding, and Charge Master) and requires excellent customer‑service and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
The Analyst performs independent work, relies on judgment to plan and accomplish tasks, and may work variable hours.
EducationRequired: A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- Experience:
5 years in a healthcare setting with knowledge of Patient Access / Revenue Cycle / Business systems. - Understanding of information system technology and database applications.
Required: Completion of required education and passing certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of education completion.
Preferred: EPIC certification in the relevant module(s); experience with EMR installations; 5 years with MS SQL, report automation, and report writing.
Department Position SummaryThe Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst III (RCAA‑3) supports systems and applications for Registration, Billing, Coding, Scheduling, Charge Master, and Revenue Integrity. The Analyst is a self‑starter with strong technical and analytical skills and excellent communication.
The Employee Must- Develop functional specifications, operational process flows, department procedures, business requirements, and documentation for approved system enhancements or modifications.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of IS internal department processes and software application support.
- Show comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, applications, and interfaces.
- Facilitate complex application and system enhancements or replacements.
- Create detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows.
- Apply advanced understanding of revenue cycle operations and attention to detail in data gathering, specification development, documentation, and recording.
- Produce analysis through reports, dashboards, and analytic tools for management.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor performance against SLAs and ensure timely data recording.
- Investigate errors, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
- Develop reports and plan database additions with reporting needs in mind.
- Support multiple concurrent projects or application modules, educating and coaching teammates, and managing user expectations.
- Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution.
- Exercise good judgment and effectively manage work time across multiple assignments.
- Prioritize work to ensure appropriate completion of tasks.
