We are currently looking for fully licensed clinicians to work in our Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Tri-Cities locations.Hybrid options are available. Position Summary
Licensed Therapists provide psychotherapy and counseling services for older adults in assisted living, independent living, and community-based settings. Therapists are responsible for providing compassionate care while ensuring documentation, billing, and clinical practices comply with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and Tennessee licensing board requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct clinical intakes, diagnostic evaluations, and psychotherapy sessions.
- Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy as clinically indicated.
- Complete therapy notes daily to ensure compliance with CMS and payer guidelines.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant records in EHR/EMR (e.g., Intake
Q, Bitrix). - Collaborate with facility staff, families, and physicians to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide crisis intervention and follow mandated reporting procedures for abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
- Differentiate between dementia, delirium, and medical causes of behavioral symptoms (e.g., dehydration, UTI, thyroid, medication side effects).
- Participate in chart audits and quality reviews; correct documentation deficiencies as directed by VP Clinical Services.
- Engage in facility outreach programs (e.g., Joy Club, dementia in-services) as directed.
- Adhere strictly to CMS billing guidelines, ensuring services provided are billable under the therapist’s license type.
- Communicate with VP Clinical Services and Patient Care Coordinators regarding referral status, caseload capacity, and client engagement.
- Support ongoing compliance through training and participation in supervision/consultation.
- Perform other related duties within scope of licensure as assigned by management.
- Active Tennessee license: LPC-MHSP, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD in Psychology.
- Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional licenses strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in geriatric or adult psychotherapy strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Medicare Part A & B billing and CMS psychotherapy definitions.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive clinical information with confidentiality and professionalism.
