Job SummaryErlanger Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Gastroenterology Unit at Erlanger Baroness. This position is a mix of inpatient and outpatient, ideal for a motivated provider passionate about delivering high quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative and innovative environment. The role involves a team‑based approach to care, coordinating patient care, supporting patients and families in self‑management, and participating in the practice’s quality improvement and performance evaluation.
Responsibilities- Coordinate care for patients within the team‑based approach.
- Support patients/families/caregivers in self‑management, self‑efficacy, and behavior change.
- Manage the practice’s patient population.
- Participate in the practice’s quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
- Required: Masters of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) OR Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant (BS/BA).
- Preferred: Previous experience in adult gastroenterology.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee.
- National certification in a specialty (e.g., ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP).
- Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty).
- BLS certification completed prior to assignment and maintained thereafter.
- For non‑Tennessee residents:
Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire.
An NP/PA is employed by Erlanger Medical Center and is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care of patients. The employee must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, understand growth and development principles over the lifespan, and assess patient data to identify needs for care as described in the NP/PA protocols.
