The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to support patient diagnosis and evaluation. The role includes:
- Handling specimen processing and pre‑analytic inspection.
- Performing various laboratory tests, evaluating results, and entering/re‑verifying data in the Laboratory Information System.
- Conducting periodic quality control per policy and procedure.
- Evaluating new or modified procedures, reagents, and instruments as directed by the Section Coordinator.
- Troubleshooting instruments.
- Participating in hospital initiatives and supporting department goals set by the Laboratory Director and Manager.
- Associate degree; graduate of a NCCLS accredited Medical Technician program.
- Hospital laboratory experience preferred.
