JOB SUMMARY:
The primary goal of the Loan Support Intern will be to introduce students to the process of managing the TVFCU loan portfolio after loans have been dispersed. This covers a wide variety of tasks including lien perfection, monitoring and placing insurance, facilitating claim filings, and servicing the loan in the core system via corrections and modifications. The student will assist by helping with reporting and various clerical duties, as well as other projects as they gain an understanding of the department's key functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with various lien perfection related reports.
- Support Loan Support team in member communications regarding title, lien, and claim statuses.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and detailed records of loan support activities and member interactions.
- Assist in securing liens, maintaining loans, placing insurance, and filling claims.
- Collaborate with the collections team to on interdepartmental responsibilities aimed at financially protecting the credit union.
- Provide administrative support to the Loan Support department, including filing, data entry, and document management.
- Participate in training sessions and department meetings to gain insight into loan support strategies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses.
- Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The TVFCU Internship Program aims to expand career pathways for undergraduate students interested in business-related fields - including Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, and related areas - particularly for those who may have had limited exposure to opportunities in the financial services industry. This program is part of our commitment to supporting emerging talent and building a strong, diverse pipeline that reflects the communities we serve.
- Candidates must be 18 years of age
- Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale (must provide transcripts)
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors working toward a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
- Ability to work part-time or full-time hours for the summer (25-40 hours/week, generally 8am-5pm Monday-Friday)
- Able to commit to the full internship of 10 weeks (weekends may be required)
- Verification of education, employment and other pertinent data included on your employment application, and eligibility to work in United States.
- Criminal background check and drug screening.
