Mechanical Drafter

A manufacturing client of Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman to join their team onsite in Chattanooga, TN. This role supports the drafting and design team in translating engineering concepts into accurate 3D models and manufacturing documentation used across production, assembly, and service. The Mechanical Draftsman will assist lead engineers with creating and maintaining parametric 3D models and detailed drawings, modifying existing designs to support updates and production needs, and contributing to large mechanical assemblies and subassemblies across multiple machine platforms.

This role also involves following established engineering documentation and revision protocols, taking shop‐floor measurements to support modeling and retrofit work, and participating in problem‐solving discussions focused on manufacturing, assembly, and design improvements. This is a hands‐on, entry‐level opportunity for someone interested in building foundational skills in industrial mechanical design and manufacturing environments.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Exposure to mechanical 3D Modelling with 2D or 3D software

Nice to Have:

• 1+ years of experience within mechanical drafting
• Experience drafting in PTC Creo or Draftsight
