PTS is looking for a Lead Civil Structural Engineer with experience in Nuclear Power Plant Design and Modifications to join a top Engineering & Consultancy firm. This role will play a crucial part in design and analysis, as well as mentorship within the team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of proposal content and mentor engineers in delivering high‑quality Civil discipline deliverables for nuclear projects.
• Collaborate with the assigned Project Engineer and Project Manager on multi‑discipline proposals and projects; serve as the Civil Project Engineer when necessary.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, directing Civil engineering teams and applying specialized expertise in industry‑standard design practices and calculations for commercial nuclear modifications.
• Coordinate with engineers and designers to prepare Design Change Packages for modifications at operating nuclear power plants and related facilities.
• Draft and review Engineering Change (EC) packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Develop scoping documents and cost proposals to define the extent of required Civil modifications and estimate engineering/design effort.
• Conduct field walk‑downs to verify existing plant structures, systems, and component configurations.
• Execute a wide range of Civil engineering design tasks to support the creation of design change documentation.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (required) – structural engineering emphasis (highly preferred)
• Master of Science or other advanced degree in engineering (preferred)
• PE registration (highly preferred) – or ability to obtain PE License within one year of employment (required)
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in design and 4 years’ experience in design of modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants
• Experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (highly preferred)
• On-site and past unescorted access (highly preferred) or ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required)
• Experience with Industry Standard Design Procedure IP-ENG-001 (required)
• Strong knowledge of civil design codes (AISC, ASTM, ACI)
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Additional software skills including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Vault, Risa, ANSYS (preferred)
