Civil Engineer; Estimator

Civil Engineer (Entry Level) – Chattanooga, TN

System One is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer (0–2 years experience) for our client’s engineering office in Chattanooga, TN. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer eager to learn specialized metal building design and grow into a project management role.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Chattanooga. The Civil Engineer will contribute to both estimating and design functions for commercial metal building projects and will work closely with senior engineers and project managers.

• Pull and interpret data from structural drawings to support cost estimating
• Perform design and calculation work for change orders on active construction projects
• Coordinate with internal engineering and construction teams to ensure design accuracy
• Participate in occasional site visits to understand how estimates and designs translate to field conditions
• Maintain project documentation and design files
• Minimal travel required (primarily early site visits to observe construction practices)

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• 0–2 years of work experience (recent grads encouraged to apply)
• Ability to read and understand structural or construction drawings
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Willingness to learn MBS software and internal design workflows

• Experience with PEMB or metal building engineering
• Internships or co‑ops related to building structures or foundations
