Substation Physical Designer​/3D Modeler

Mesa Associates, Inc. is looking for a designer or 3D modeler with experience using Inventor, Solid Works, SDS P4A or P4I to complete substation physical layout design deliverables for medium to high voltage substations.

This position involves the preparation of design drawings such as general arrangements, equipment plans, elevations, sections, control house layouts, grounding plans, conduit and cable plans, bills of material, and cable schedules for medium and high voltage substations using AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Revit, Solid Works, and Microsoft Office.

The role requires working with others in a collaborative team environment and may involve a small amount of travel. Experience with Inventor or Solid Works is preferred, and Revit or SDS Smart Tools are a plus.

• A 2‑year associate's degree in engineering technology or drafting is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.

• Produce error‑free work and meet client schedules.
• Create plan views, section views, elevations, conduit and cable schedules, and bills of material.
• Perform occasional overnight site visits; estimated travel less than 5% of the time.
• Use AutoCAD to view, plot, and edit drawings.
• Use Inventor and the SDS design tool.
• Work collaboratively and supportively with others.
