Staff Accountant

This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to work with multiple entities, each managing their own accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to handling accounting tasks across multiple locations. Ability to manage independent workload but also work in a team-based environment is necessary!

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable and manage billing activities for various entities using accounting software.

- Enter financial data accurately into the system and ensure smooth progression through the accounts payable cycle.

- Assist with payroll duties, including running and batching employee checks and reconciling payroll accounts.

- Handle intercompany transactions and maintain accurate records for multiple subsidiaries.

- Prepare balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data formatting, creating formulas, and generating reports.

- Collaborate with team members across multiple states to ensure seamless operations.

- Maintain ledgers for each entity while adhering to project-based accounting requirements.

- Analyze work-in-progress (WIP) data and provide detailed reports as needed.

- Demonstrate initiative and ownership in handling diverse accounting tasks without constant supervision.

Requirements

- Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in accounts payable processes and invoice handling.

- Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software, such as SAP, Oracle, N4, Workday, etc.

- Familiarity with payroll reconciliation and multi-state filing requirements.

- Ability to manage intercompany transactions effectively.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formula creation and data formatting.

- Experience with work-in-progress (WIP) accounting or project-based financial analysis.

- Independent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
