Overview
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join their plaintiff-side personal injury team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact matters and provide essential support throughout the litigation process, from discovery through trial, arbitration, mediation, and settlement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, effectively manages multiple deadlines, and enjoys contributing to a collaborative legal team.
JobFunction
- Maintain discovery tracking charts and ensure all deadlines are met, including interrogatories, notices to produce, depositions, and IMEs.
- Advise attorneys on the need for discovery extensions and provide supporting rationale; update critical deadlines and related tasks.
- Maintain trial calendars and tracking charts; coordinate availability of clients and experts and request adjournments as needed.
- Calendar, confirm, and schedule non-deposition appearances, including conferences, arbitrations, and motion hearings.
- Retain and coordinate experts, including IMEs; send initial and supplemental materials; prepare and follow up on Affidavits of Merit.
- Obtain expert reports, review invoices, process payments, and coordinate deposition reimbursement with defense counsel.
- Handle court-related matters, including electronic court filings and updates as required.
- Draft, serve, and manage discovery requests and responses; propound discovery on defendants and follow up as needed; prepare discovery amendments.
- 5+ years of experience as a plaintiff personal injury paralegal is a mustl, medical malpractice is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, and standard-of-care concepts would be helpful but not required.
- Proficiency with litigation management software – Smart Advocate is a plus but not a requirement.
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required.
