7am–5pm Mon–Thu & 7am–12pm Fri.

Overview

Our client is a small to medium‑size business offering niche and innovative products to a global engineering market. We are recruiting a Factory Manager / Production Manager who will report to the MD, be a key member of the leadership team and manage the day‑to‑day running of the factory and production processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organise and manage around 60 staff, including toolroom, maintenance, quality, production and warehousing, as well as agency staff.
  • Develop and support staff, including responsibility for apprentices.
  • Update and implement ISO
    9001, 14001 and industry‑specific quality management systems and standards, and conduct internal and external audits.
  • Analyse daily operational data to ensure short‑ and long‑term KPIs are met.
  • Manage stock control, movement of goods and general housekeeping.
  • Write and implement work instructions and/or SOPs across all areas of operation.
  • Be directly involved in manufacturing issues and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure end‑product compliance and personal development of shop‑floor personnel.
  • Drive a culture of excellence.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Background working in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good man‑management skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to improve manufacturing processes using techniques such as Lean or Kaizen.
  • Track record managing stock levels through efficient planning and stock control.
  • Knowledge and experience managing an ERP system.
