Procurement Officer

Overview

We're looking for a Procurement Officer who's ready to make a meaningful impact while developing their professional skills in a friendly and collaborative environment. At mhs homes, our Procurement Team plays a vital role in ensuring we deliver high quality, cost effective services for our customers and communities. In this role, you ll help us maintain strong, transparent procurement practices while supporting colleagues across the business to get the best value from every contract and supplier relationship.

You ll take ownership of below threshold procurement activities, from gathering quotes to managing framework call offs, and you ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues as you begin contributing to larger tender processes. Alongside this, you ll support contract management and category based procurement opportunities that help us work smarter and more efficiently. Your day to day work will be varied and engaging—reviewing purchase orders, maintaining procurement systems, running procurement exercises, and helping to deliver training that builds procurement awareness across the organisation.

We re looking for someone with a positive approach, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to engage and communicate with colleagues at all levels.

• Take ownership of below threshold procurement activities, from gathering quotes to managing framework call offs.
• Support contract management and category-based procurement opportunities.
• Assist with larger tender processes as you gain experience.
• Review purchase orders and maintain procurement systems.
• Run procurement exercises and help deliver procurement awareness training across the organisation.

• Experience or keen interest in public sector procurement.
• Working towards (or willing to work towards) a CIPS Level 4 qualification.
• Great attention to detail, problem solving ability, and a positive, collaborative approach.
• Ability to engage and communicate with colleagues at all levels.
