Business Support Officer – Children and Young People Disability Team
Are you passionate about making a difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a Business Support Officer to join our Children and Young People with Disabilities Team and Childrens Occupational Therapy Team, working closely with our Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) to drive forward the SEND Improvement Plan. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting services that improve outcomes for children and families.
You will provide high-quality administrative and business support, ensuring that processes run smoothly and that our teams can focus on delivering exceptional care.
- Work collaboratively with social work and occupational therapy teams to support the delivery of the SEND Improvement Plan.
- Provide efficient administrative support, including managing data, coordinating meetings and presentations.
- Assist the Designated Social Care Officer in implementing improvements and tracking progress against key priorities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate records to support service performance.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- Experience in business support or administration within a social care or education setting (desirable).
- A commitment to improving services for children and young people with disabilities.

Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly. This means that the salary you will be offered will be at level A unless, based on an assessment against the CPF criteria, you demonstrate that you are meeting the criteria of level B or
C. There will be further opportunity once in post to progress from level A to B, and B to
C.
