The buyer will support material planning and purchasing functions for an OEM of industrial process machinery. Day to day activities include obtaining quotes, placing purchase orders, and following‑up with vendors.

• Manage daily purchasing activity; maintain inventory and job specific needs
• Create and issue purchase orders
• Participate in supplier sourcing and development
• Participate and/or facilitate contract negotiations
• Follow up with suppliers on pricing, delivery, terms, and invoicing issues as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One is preferred), Excel, Word
• Ability to build and maintain working relationships with co‑workers, customers, and vendors
• Self‑starter with a developed sense of urgency and diligence

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience desired
• Prior purchasing or planning experience preferred
• Able to work in an office environment but also deal with manufacturing personnel

$70,000- $80,000
