What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a full-time Journeyman Electrician to support our commercial customers within our Electrical Service Department. This position will play a key role in supporting our customer base and Field Electricians from the completion of service calls to troubleshooting new commercial electrical installation. Ideal candidates for this position should have a wide variety of commercial electrical knowledge, experienced troubleshooting skills, and enjoy daily customer interaction by providing solutions with their electrical skills.

  • Commits to working safely every day and focuses on continued development and education related to safe work practices.
  • Collaborates with the EPS Project Management and EPS Service Department Manager to determine the best approach, value, and needs for electrical service work and solutions.
  • Provides strong and effective troubleshooting skills and the ability to improvise and adapt to a variety of commercial applications and service calls.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner and promote EPS values with customers by understanding their needs, developing new relationships, and providing effective solutions.
  • Responsible for ordering and procuring materials through Remarcable and equipment as needed for projects and service calls.
  • Responsible for following up with customers before, during, and after the project with clear communication regarding project status ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Completes all required service call documents and paperwork including work orders, materials used, and providing information for accurate billing and estimates to customers.
  • Works closely with the EPS Service Manager to determine labor needs for commercial projects, installation, and project closeout and completion.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor setting project objectives and ensures final project meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Promotes and follows EPS company philosophy, processes, values, and safety requirements.
  • Continuously and proactively seek opportunities with customers advising them of the services EPS can provide and in turn shares information with EPS Project Managers and Service Department Manager.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician within the State of Minnesota.
  • Two-year technical associate degree in electrical estimating, project management or construction management, or similar discipline
  • At least 4-years of electrical experience installation, troubleshooting, demo, and understanding of commercial applications and installation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a keen sense for detail.
  • Ability to have good foresight skills to anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and the ability to react and provide effective solutions.
Qualifications Set You Apart
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical documents related to electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards for electrical work.
  • Two-year technical associate degree in electrical estimating, project management or construction management, or similar discipline.
  • OSHA 10 and first aid certifications.
  • A Medical Health Card.
  • Proficiency with business software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
